Facial Plastic Surgeon Columbus Ohio
Ohio Facial Cosmetic Surgery
Our practice is an Ohio favorite for facial and body plastic surgery procedures, as well as nonsurgical options, including fillers, laser (like laser hair reduction), and aesthetic treatments such as a chemical peel or microneedling. Dr. Houser and Dr. Kraft will work closely with you to determine which of our treatments will provide you with the best possible results.
We offer a variety of facial surgery operations, which are performed by experienced plastic surgeons. Brief descriptions of each procedure are listed below on this page. Click on the procedure’s name for more detailed information.
Brow Lift
Brow lift (forehead lift) surgery is designed to elevate the outer brow. The elevation of the brow not only restores a youthful slope, but also lifts skin off the outer upper eyelid. The brow lift performed by your plastic surgeon may involve either small incisions concealed in the hairline or a longer incision over the top of the scalp, generally still behind the hairline.
Eyelid Surgery
Blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) is used to reduce excess tissue around the eyes that often results in a tired appearance. Upper blepharoplasty surgery reduces excess skin from the upper eyelid and sometimes a small amount of fat. Lower blepharoplasty surgery generally involves the removal of skin as well as fat that may be producing bags under the eyes. Occasionally, the fat alone may be removed, resulting in no visible scars.
Facelift
Rhytidectomy (facelift surgery) addresses the “jowl” area on the lower face as well as the cheek and neck. Incisions are customized for the individual patient, but generally extend from the sideburn, around in front of the ear, and then behind the ear in the hairline. Facelift surgery provides augmentation to the jawline and cheek contours, providing a more lifted look.
Mini Facelift
Mini facelift surgery is an excellent option for someone seeking slight correction to their jawline and neck or who want to enhance the non-surgical procedures they’re already benefiting from. The mini facelift surgery is also ideal for a patient with a thin face and little excess skin. Mini facelift incisions are similar to the full facelift.
Neck Lift
Lower Rhytidectomy (neck lift surgery) is similar to the neck portion of the facelift surgery, but it doesn’t focus on treating the upper face. The incisions may either be similar to the facelift incision or confined to below the chin. Your plastic surgeon will determine which approach to use in order to meet patient expectations.
Otoplasty
Otoplasty (ear pinning surgery) is designed to correct protruding ears. This may be addressed either as a child (as young as 6) or as an adult patient. Your reconstructive surgeon will typically confine the incisions to the skin behind the ear and use some combination of sutures, cartilage excision, and skin removal.
Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty (nose job surgery) techniques vary depending on the desires of the patient and the operative plan. There are two basic approaches to rhinoplasty surgery: closed and open. The closed technique typically helps to reduce the hump on the top of the nose and improve a person’s profile. For extensive changes to the tip of the nose (usually to change a boxy tip), the open approach is often used. The procedure may include nasal augmentation to reshape and refine the nose’s appearance.
The skin benefits of plastic surgery
Facial plastic surgeries often rejuvenate your skin, making you look years younger. When your facial plastic surgeon performs the procedure, they will remove excess skin and use lifting techniques that reduce the appearance of wrinkles. We no longer use plastic implants for facial surgery, which enables us to provide even more natural-looking results to patients.
Surgical (and nonsurgical) options for a face you love
While facial procedures and treatments are often performed for cosmetic reasons, they also have benefits for patients seeking to improve their health and wellness. By correcting issues such as a sagging brow or a deviated septum, plastic surgery procedures enable patients to go about their lives with greater ease and comfort.
In addition to our facial surgery options, we also provide patients with body restoration and augmentation choices, as well as nonsurgical offerings. For facial enhancement, a patient may select injectable treatments, such as fillers or Botox, aesthetic treatments, such as chemical peels or microneedling, or laser hair reduction to achieve their desired look. Laser treatment on small areas can often be performed in just one minute!
Laser hair reduction is also popular for treatment on the body, as laser is nonsurgical and offers long-lasting results. Laser hair reduction is often used on the legs, arms, and pubic area to remove hair using a concentrated laser beam. By treating multiple hairs at once, laser hair reduction is quick and highly effective. If you have questions about laser hair reduction or any of our other surgery and care options, contact us today.
If you experience discomfort following a surgery or procedure, taking an appropriate dose of pain medicine will help alleviate pain and enable you to recover more quickly. While you’re not required to take medication, it can often be beneficial during recovery.
